Billing & Insurance *

Catalina Speech Therapy offers speech therapy services on a private pay basis. We are an approved vendor with Arizona ESA through Class Wallet. We are not contracted with private or public insurance plans. By operating as a private pay speech therapy clinic, we are able to deliver exceptional speech therapy services to the Oro Valley, AZ community without the restrictions that insurance might impose. We provide Superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Why Private Pay?

More Provider Choices:

You can see any speech therapist without restrictions on who is “in-network”.

No Treatment Limitations:

Insurance may cap the number of speech therapy sessions a client is able to receive in a time period, while private pay allows for as many as needed.

No Diagnosis Required:

Insurance often requires a formal diagnosis for coverage, whereas private pay does not.

More Flexible Therapy Goals:

You can focus on functional speech therapy goals rather than insurance-approved goals.

No Insurance Hassles:

Avoid dealing with denials, pre-authorizations, and paperwork

Faster Access to Services:

No waiting for insurance approval means you can start speech therapy right away!

Superbills:

Superbills are a great option when using private pay for speech therapy. They allow you to potentially get reimbursed by your insurance while still enjoying the flexibility of private pay. If you would like to request a Superbill to submit to your insurance, please feel free to request one from your speech therapist.

  • A superbill is a detailed document that a healthcare provider, such as a speech therapist, generates for a patient after receiving a skilled service. It includes essential information such as the patient's details, the specific speech therapy services rendered, diagnostic codes, and costs associated with each service. This document serves as a summary of the speech therapy visit that can be submitted to insurance companies for reimbursement purposes.

While a superbill is not a bill in the traditional sense, it provides patients with the necessary documentation to file for insurance reimbursement. Patients can submit the superbill to their insurance provider to seek partial or full coverage for the speech therapy services they received. It is an important tool that helps facilitate the process of getting reimbursed for out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.

  • Private-pay clients are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of anticipated charges per the No Surprises Act.

A good faith estimate (GFE) is a document that outlines the estimated costs associated with a service before it is provided. In the context of speech and language therapy, the GFE includes anticipated charges for speech therapy sessions, assessments, and any other related services. The purpose of a GFE is to ensure transparency and help clients make informed decisions regarding their care and financial responsibilities. By providing a clear estimate of the cost of speech therapy, clients can better understand the potential expenses and plan accordingly, fostering a trusting relationship between speech therapists and clients.
